Christmas spirit doesn't need a full home makeover, sometimes a few handmade decorations are all it takes. Home and lifestyle creator Rose Chauhan (@azumiihome) shows us how a lush, floral wreath and a ribbon garland can bring a warm, festive touch to her home, with everything sourced in one trip to Roxburgh Village.
Here's how to recreate the look at home.

What you'll need
· A wreath frame from [Retailer Name]
· Faux hydrangea stems (or faux flowers and leaves of your choice) from Manchester Collection or Bed Bath N Table
· Wired ribbon in various Christmas tones from TK Maxx
· A hot glue gun from Kmart
Hydrangea wreath
The best festive styling often starts with one standout piece, and for Rose that meant creating her own lush, floral wreath.
1. Start with your wreath frame, laying it flat so you can see the full shape you're working with.
2. Working stem by stem, thread the faux hydrangea (or faux flowers of your choice) through the frame, distributing them evenly rather than clumping them in one spot. Keep adding the flowers until it feels right, judging as you go and adding more where it looks a little sparse.
3. Tuck in extra leaves or faux foliage between the flower heads to fill out any thin patches and give the wreath a fuller, more natural finish.
4. Using wired ribbon of your choice, shape a classic bow. Layer different ribbon patterns, colours, or textures to add depth. The wire is key here, as it holds the loops in place and gives the bow that structured look.
5. Secure the bow to your wreath at the top or the base, then go back through and fluff the flower heads and leaves for a more polished silhouette.
The best part? It will look beautiful anywhere in your house! The dining room, front door or even the hallway.
Festive garland
Next comes the garland, made from just ribbon and glue.
1. Cut the wired ribbon of your choice into even lengths. Use two or more festive patterns, colours, or textures for contrast along the length of the garland.
2. Create a circle with your first piece of ribbon and use a hot glue gun to secure the two ends of the ribbon together. Taking your next piece of ribbon, thread it through your first circle, gluing together the two ends of the ribbon to form a second, interlocking circle. It's worth taking your time here to ensure each join sits neatly.
3. Keep adding ribbon circles until the garland reaches the length you need for your space, whether that's a staircase, a light fixture or an entryway table.
4. Once assembled, go back along the garland and adjust any joins so they sit evenly and fall naturally.
It's a simple technique, but the payoff is a stylish, statement piece that comes together faster than you'd think. Rose styled hers along her dining room light fixture, bringing that festive moment throughout her Christmas lunch.
Decorating Around the Home
Christmas styling doesn't have to mean decorating your entire home. One home, styled thoughtfully with greenery, texture, and a few handmade touches, can set the tone for the whole season. And because both pieces work in so many spots – from the door to the hallway, the dining table to the staircase – you can style them wherever suits your home best.
If you're after that same effortless, unexpected festive feeling in your own space, everything you need is closer than you think. Head into Roxburgh Village] to pick up your wreath frame, faux stems, ribbon, and glue gun in one easy trip, and bring a little Christmas magic into your home every day.
