Harking back to the days of ancient marketplaces, no excellent modern day shopping centre is complete without a fresh food grocer.

For 20 years now, Nawzad and his team have been proudly operating Green Apple fruit and vegetable store at Roxburgh Village. Over that time, he’s watched the centre grow and evolve into the thriving hub that it is now.

“When we first opened the centre wasn’t as developed as it is now,” he remembers. “I saw that potential and I’m happy with our decision.”

Nawzad says that one of the best things about Roxburgh Village is the convenience of the centre and how easy it is to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Green Apple is certainly part of that convenience. Not only do they sell high quality fruit and vegetables, but pantry staples such as pasta sauce, eggs, dips and crackers. There’s even a fresh juice bar and a customer-operated orange juicing machine in store.

Among Zahir’s most memorable moments in the centre is Green Apple’s grand reopening when it shifted location in 2020. There were green balloons adorning the store and staff dressed up as fruit handing out snacks.

Prior to running Green Apple, Nawzad worked in exporting and importing goods. He loves how friendly his customers are in his current job and that “no two days are the same.”

And his favourite product?

“As our store name goes, green apple!”
